Rogues June 29th, 2008BleepingComputer recently blogged about Antivirus 2009 hijacking Google search results. BleepingComputer reported the advertising text as the following.
Google has detected unregistered Antivirus 2009 copy on your computer. Google recommends you to activate Antivirus 2009 to protect your PC from malicious intrusions from the Internet.
If you have seen any of the windows above on your computer, it is recommended that you follow these instructions. We have provided removal instructions for anybody unfortunate to have downloaded these applications.

This showed up on my computer. I tried bypassing and finally thought it was legit. Realized after purchase it was not legit and the program itself was the culprit. Not being knowledgeable, I really am lost as to how to get it out and off my computer. I have had my bank remove the charges and canceled my card.

Cindy, you made the right choice asking to remove the charges and canceling the card. Please run Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware to remove the traces of Antivirus 2009.

je n’ai pas besoin de l’antivirus 2009, mais ce matin à l’ouverture de mon ordinateur,j’ai vu afficher la publicité de l’antivirus 2009. mais seulement quand j’ouvre internet c’est le même message qui s’affiche, comment faire pour m’en débarasser parceque cela m’empêche de travailler. Merci d’avance de votre compréhension.

I just spent 5 hours removing this nasty little program from my mothers computer. I have since found an easy way to remove it. 1st uninstall the program from your start memu then download windows defender. It will remove all traces of this program and its free to download. This virus highjacks your computer and all the files and programs on it. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/defender/default.mspx

Natasha, Thank you! Windows defender did the trick for me. Although I couldn’t update defender once installed I had to manually download the update but it’s finally gone. OMG how much that nasty bug caused me to go insane……. you saved me.

Go to avast, it’s free ,download and away you go. It will automatically remove this B of thing. It took a long time to download, about an hour, but well worth it.

Thank you so much!…the Antivirus 2009 just started yesterday to block websites and pop up every couple of minutes luckly i found this website. ive read other peoples trouble with the Antivirus 2009 and im glad i was able to correct quickly.

Ccleaner worked great to remove from my computer! If your having problems go to youtube and type in antivirus 2009 removal. Problem solved.
